Overview of the Press Operator Opportunity

Under the supervision of the production supervisor for presses and die manufacturing, the press operator prepares, sets up, and operates one or more machines or equipment for shaping light or heavy metals, including mechanical presses or metal cutting presses.

You will accomplish, among other things, the following:

  • Inspect presses and tools daily.
  • Check workplace (safety).
  • Keep workstation clean (forklift).
  • Adhere to supervisor's schedule.
  • Ensure necessary tools are available for the job.
  • Complete work orders within prescribed deadlines.
  • Inspect part conformity by taking critical measurements according to production form.
  • Program press control.
  • Request materials and waste bins.

Requirements

  • Level of studies: DES
  • Spoken and written language: French
  • Experience: With or without experience on punch presses ranging from 80 to 560 tons
  • Skill in press control programming (an asset)

Salary offered: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour
Full time: from 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM Monday to Thursday, and from 7:00 AM to noon on Friday
